Using ChatGPT to create a PrestaShop catalog

ChatGPT and PrestaShop

Generative AI, and OpenAI's ChatGPT in particular, has been shaking up the web world for several months now. Although the subject of controversy, it has to be recognized that when used properly, with knowledge of its limits and control of its excesses, it can be a fantastic tool for content editors.

Sitolog, with Merlin Backoffice flex in the PREMIUM package, contributes to this revolution, enabling you to automate interaction with ChatGPT on tens, hundreds, thousands of lines of articles or categories into your PrestaShop shop, in a single operation!

Just a few examples:

Imagine making a selection of 100 products whose descriptions had been imported from a supplier's file, and asking ChatGP with Merlin Backoffice Flex, in a single question, to reformulate these descriptions in a unique way, to differentiate you from the competition.

Then ask it to write the meta fields for these 100 products, such as the meta description and title tag, based on the long description and product name.

And why not ask him to translate and fill in all these fields in the English version of your catalog.

Do you sell products with the same reference in other stores? Is there a lot of competition? Ask this magical tool to search for the SEO keywords used by your competitors for each item in your store, and to propose a description that's different from all the others, better selling and enriched with new features.

The potential is enormous, and we're only at the very beginning of the adventure. ChatGPT's API doesn't yet allow you to work with photos or produce images, for example, but it's only a matter of months now. Sitolog Merlin Backoffice Flex will adapt when these new features are available. Will it soon be possible to automatically crop and clean product photos en masse? Or to create new images that differ from the competition, or that are generated by AI from the product description?

This page contains various articles and tutorials to help you set up and use this new tool.
