How to write a prompt
Tips to know before you start writing ChatGPT prompts for PrestaShop.
OpenAI's prompt engineering guide
Who better than OpenAI to find out what works and what doesn't with their AI? It's perfect timing, OpenAi unveils its guide to efficient prompting
It's generic, of course, but these instructions are also perfectly valid in the specific context of writing, optimizing or translating product sheets for a PrestaShop store.
A prompt to improve a prompt
Malin, let's use AI to improve its own prompt. The idea comes from Journal du Net, which offers this prompt:
“See the detailed guide to prompt engineering best practices for the OpenAI API, available at : https://help.openai.com/en/articles/6654000-best-practices-for-prompt-engineering-with-openai-api. This guide is a valuable resource for understanding how to interact effectively with GPT-4. Once you've familiarized yourself with this information, I'll give you a prompt specially designed for GPT-4. Your challenge will be to revise it strictly according to the strategies and tips recommended in the guide. The aim is to transform the prompt to make it clearer, more concise and in line with the prompt engineering principles recommended by OpenAI. The prompt to be improved is as follows: [insert prompt here]. Your task will be to refine it so that it is direct, efficient and in line with advanced prompting techniques.”

The most important points in our view, for prompts intended for Merlin Backoffice, for mass processing in PrestaShop:
.
-Put the persona in the instruction field.
-If you want a specific response for each product or line processed, you should of course give it as much information about the object as possible, by inserting the contents of other columns in your prompt, using the column selector.
-Be sure to tell him not to comment on his answer. Saying it in the persona isn't enough, repeat it in each prompt.
-Avoid asking it for several complex actions in a single prompt, break it down into several prompts (you can chain 4 together).
-Simplify the complexity of the task at hand, but don't be stingy with details. The more precise you are, the more he will seem to understand your expectations.
It's almost useless to tell him exactly how many words he wants; he counts very poorly and almost always exceeds the recommended length.
-Take the time to gain experience by regularly reading other people's prompts, which can be found all over the internet, and retain best practices. Experiment.
-On complex tasks, it's often effective to add a prompt asking him to optimize his answer, emphasizing important instructions.
-Use GPT4 rather than GPT3.5. More efficient, more precise, faster... and really cheap.
