We will explain how to use the tip of the previous article to fill the column with the captions of the product images, also called ALT tag. We will also see two other methods, one of which is to automatically replace these ALT tags by product name, for many products at the same time.
Module : PrestaPricing
level : beginner
1.Start by displaying the products with their photos
2.Click on the tabs Variations and Images
3. Then Images
4. And finally click on the gear button of the Images table at the bottom right
Start by filling the legend of the first line of a product by hand (here T-shirt-washed-out ").
Then select all the other lines to receive the same caption.
However, to select all the lines of a block (of the same product), just click on the small red rectangle present in the line of separation of the blocks:
Then, as explained last week, right-click on the value "washed-out T-shirt" to bring up the contextual menu and choose the last line of this menu, to make a copy paste of this value in totues The selected lines.
To review this technic shown last week, clic here.
1. As previously select all the images to be modified
2. Click the T button that replaces the legend of the images selected with the product name
3. Choose whether to perform the operation in the current language (the one selected in the "View" tray) or in all the languages of the shop:
And the legend column of the images becomes identical to the product name:
UPDATE (2019/04/29) : Merlin Backoffice version 1.4 is available and includes a new advanced legends generator capable of automatically filling the legends with a dozen of parameters, including the attributes of the combinations linked to the images.
Remember that Magic Edit works on this column of captions and offers you a lot of possibilities, for example to add text at the beginning or end of prases.
Before using MagicEdit on two red images:
After using Magic Edit twice to add the red and blue words respectively to the red and then blue images.
Next week we will see a little trick allowing to select with one click all the declinations of one of the products in particular, in the table of declinations, also displaying the declinations of other products.
